Inquiry-Based Instruction

This was another online class. The instructor was rather distant and rarely entered into the class discussions on Blackboard. This made the class less enjoyable.

The subject matter of the class was wonderful. Inquiry-learning and problem-solving are key ideas in curriculum right now.

I especially appreciated the focus on the emotional aspects of the research process and what a researcher may be feeling at various points along the way.

I wrote these sentences on file cards and posted them on my bulletin board:

"Learning begins with confusion and uncertainty."

"Learning is not a comfortable process. If you're not feeling some discomfort, you're not really learning."
